A day at the beach.
The sun is high, the sand is warm, the waves are wild.
On your towel sits a bowl of your favorite fresh cut fruit.
Next to the fruit is a book recommended by a friend with good taste.
You came alone to the beach, but there are many people out also.
The heat feels nice. The air is pure. Even the seagulls are sunbathing.
You laugh out loud while reading. Your friend knows you well.
You don’t mind the occasional
puppy straying from it’s family to come over and say hello to you.
Everyone is friendly.
You take a dip in the water. It’s cold. The kind of cold that makes you smile
and stretch your arms out as if you are sending shivers out through your fingers.
You jog back to your spot on the sand,
not before picking up few pieces of garbage on the way.
You’ll find a can for the trash when you leave. For now, you put it in
a small bag of yours.
You were given so much today. Light chores don’t bother you.
