quality is sacred

taoism tells us to drop something. math wants us to reduce to simplest terms. consumerism demands the opposite. we are adding much more to the world than needed.

humans have built modern societies to satisfy insatiable hunger for convenience. when convenience drives the creative process, when convenience is prioritized as the desired outcome, the end product is convenient for the individual and destructive to the world. yet because there is no separation from the world, destruction comes to the individual as well.

it is quality we appreciate and story creates true value.

the wooden bowl your grandpa carved, the quilt that has been passed down through generations, the ring you plan to give to your child…each recipient must wait for his or her turn to watch over that heirloom until it is passed on again. the family story is sacred. it cannot be mass produced.
